According to collision theory, the effect on reaction rate as the reaction reaches equilibrium, are to be explained.
Concept Introduction:
Collision theory is totally based on the fact that, for a reaction to occur the reactant species should collide together.
For the formation of a particular product, the reactants have to collide in a particular orientation or effective orientation and at the same time they have cross the energy barrier, and to cross they require sufficient energy known as activation energy.
Reactants that collide in the effective orientation form activated complex, an unstable high energy species are formed before the products, and get transformed into products with time.
The effective collision is affected by the following factors: temperature and concentration of reactants and surface area.
