Summary Introduction

Introduction:

The suprahyoid muscles are present in the neck region located above the hyoid bone. These bones are represented as stylohyoid, digastric, mylohyoid and the geniohyoid muscles. Except the geniohyoid muscles all muscles are known as pharyngeal muscles. The digastric muscles are named as posterior and anterior belly. Both of these bellies connect to the intermediate tendon. The mylohyoid muscles are flat, thin muscle that is present inferior to the tongue and gives support to the muscles present in the mouth. The geniohyoid muscles are present in the midline and the stylohyoid muscle is parallel to the bellies.
