Introduction:

Selective toxicity is expressed in the form of therapeutic dose to treat a disease and the dose at which the drug could become toxic to host. The property of antimicrobial agent to inhibit a pathogen is selective toxicity. All antimicrobial agents are selectively toxic to the pathogens so that they do not harm the host.
