Photosynthesis is the phenomenon by which all green plants, certain bacteria, and some ( Euglena ) use solar energy to produce simple sugar, which through cellular respiration produces ATP (adenosine triphosphate). This ATP is also called the “Energy currency” of the cell and is used by all living organisms as fuel for the body.
