Introduction:
An experiment is the main base for scientists to check the many theorem or hypotheses. Scientists do some test to find out how nature works and also, they design an experiment to check for cause and effect relationships to that particular experiment. The following things are very important to design an experiment namely sample size, variables, controls, and statistical analysis.
Here, variables are considered as the things that are “changing in an experiment”. A variable is any condition or factor that can happen in differing whole effect or form. Normally, an experiment consists of many types of variables such as standardized variable, independent variable, dependent variable, and control variable.

- The bacterium Agrobacterium infects plants and causes plant cells to develop tumorlike cellular structures and begin synthesizing sets of proteins that protect the bacterium from the plant immune response, as well as synthesize nutrients that can be used exclusively by the bacterium. Researchers testing the efficacy of two new antibiotic treatments against Agrobacterium are tasked with designing an experiment to test their effectiveness. Which of the following describes the most appropriate control group in this experiment? A B с D a group of infected and untreated plants of the same species a group of uninfected and untreated plants of a different species a group of infected and untreated plants of a different species a group of uninfected and untreated plants of the same speciesarrow_forwardpropose a hypothesis regarding the organisms (staphylococcus, escherichia, pseudomonas, and bacillus) that will be resistant to the most disinfectants, and why? if the hypothesis is supported, what specific experimental results will be observed? what would be the independent and dependent variable? zone size, disinfectant type, colony countarrow_forwardYou have 500ml of a bacterial culture (cell density 1x10^6 cells/ml). How would you want to prepare 5 ml of a cell suspension with a cell density of 1x10^7 cells/ml? OA. Centrifuge 100 ml of the stock B. Centrifuge 500ml of the stock C. Add 50 ml media D. Add 10 ml media E. Add 500 ml media F. Discard supernatant G. Centrifuge 50 ml of the stock H. Add 100 ml media OI. Centrifuge 10 ml of the stock J. Dissolve pellet in 5 ml media K. Can not tellarrow_forwardComparing the different methods for counting bacterial cells, which of the following is FALSE? A. The serial dilution methods counts only viable cells. B. The turbidity method indirectly measures the number of cells observing how much light goes through a broth sample C. The turbidity method uses a spectrophotometer D. The direct microscopic method counts only viable cells E. - Researchers are designing several experiments to test the ability of Salmonella bacteria to develop antibiotic resistance. A culture of Salmonella bacteria is exposed to the same concentrations (200 mg/L) of an antibiotic for four days. The table shows the number of isolated resistant bacteria over a four-day period. Which of the following statements best explains these results? Day Number of Resistant Bacteria in the Culture 1 5 2 59 3 677 4 32,456 The bacteria were not affected by the antibiotic. After being exposed to the antibiotic, the bacteria altered the antibiotic. A new species of bacteria emerged after the antibiotics were introduced. Random mutations led some bacteria to be resistant and, over time, they increased in the population.arrow_forwardMatch the following questions about the people who shaped the field of Microbiology to the "BEST" possible answer...
