Khale-G Biscuit Company Limited
Khale-G is a reputed biscuit company in Pakistan. It has been a market leader in this
industry for nearly 4 decades. Khale-G has managed to lead the industry through
innovation and aggressive marketing techniques. The company invests a large portion of
its profit in the research and development (R&D) activities to stay ahead in offering an
exotic range of products. Simultaneously, it also invests a significant portion of its
revenue in advertisements in the national and local print, radio, television and online
media. The results of its activities are evident from the fact that it commands a market
share of about 78.6% of the total biscuit market.
In view of the recent global pandemic, COVID-19, the sale of biscuits, like other consumer
goods has fallen sharply in the entire world. The situation in Pakistan and in the biscuit
industry is no different. Disruptions in sales in Pakistan is nothing new, given the poor
infrastructure of the company and its long history of getting into wars with its neighbour
India. Therefore, companies in Pakistan know, to some extent, as to how things will turn
up in the future after the pandemic is brought under control. Given the infectious nature
of the pandemic, unlike in many countries of the world, Pakistan has still not announced
complete lockdown. It is however believed, that Pakistan may announce lockdown in a
few days.
As part of its regular R&D activities, recently, Khale-G has come up with 4 new flavours
for biscuits. These are: bomb-choco, rocket-orange, bullet-coffee and missile-vanilla. It
is thinking of launching a few of these new flavours in the market when the COVID-19
situation improves. The company wants to know which flavours to launch and whether
the premium segment customers would be more interested in these flavours.
