I chose to assess myself positively in all of the categories because I felt that I did a good job of thoroughly responding to and completing each of the requirements. I came to the discussion with a several page response to each of the four questions that I posed in relation to the text, complete with a highlighted and annotated copy of the story to use as a reference point. During the discussion itself, I referred to how the specific actions of each of the characters in the story might be interpreted and related in a more broad sense to the meaning of the work as a whole. For example, I spoke at one point about how the actions of the wife seemed inconsistent with the continuous importance placed on the value of honor within the story, as her …show more content…
I chose this goal because I hoped that it would force me to pay closer attention to what the other students were saying so that new ideas and voices could be heard that might have otherwise been silenced and forgotten. I based my assessment on how well I felt that I had completed the previous tasks, and how many times that occurred during the discussion. My assessment was positive because I did defer or build upon other’s ideas several times, and I feel that it benefited the progress of the discussion. For example, when I observed that another student and I were about to speak at the same time, I would let them go first and then add my thoughts afterwards. This happened about five or six times, and I chose to defer in four of those instances. Overall, I’m pleased with how things went and I believe that I did a good job of achieving the goal I set for …show more content…
At the beginning of the year I was focused solely on saying whatever I wanted to say as quickly as possible, and I payed little attention to what others we're wanted to contribute. This wasn’t beneficial to me or the other participants, as it created a stressful environment where everyone was clamouring to speak, but no one was really listening to each other. That has changed considerably for me, as I currently have a completely different outlook. I now understand that for a forum such as a Socratic Seminar to be work, each participant must respectfully fulfill the role of both speaker and listener. I allow others to speak instead of constantly worrying about when I can next interject, and I pay close attention to what others are trying to say. I also make an effort to notice when someone hasn’t spoken much or really wants to speak, and include them in the conversation. In the future I hope to improve even more by further building upon these new skills, and allowing myself to become a better participant in the discussion as a
In taking the 360o Refined Self-Assessment I have learned my five highest leadership skills are: communication, outcome concern, information sharing, credibility, and decision fairness. My five highest rated behaviors are: communication, communication, communication, outcome concern, and outcome concern. I agree that I do well in communication. Moreover, I feel information sharing is part of good communication. I talk with my employees as often as possible and sit down with each employee once a month to do employee rounding where we speak of how well their day is going, what I can do to make it better, and share any information I have to pass along. I also agree that I am concerned for outcomes because I am genuinely concerned with my employee’s

Something that surprised me was the knowledge quiz because the occupations that listed were mostly related to my interests.
A regular self-assessment will help you to understand your individual performance. An excellent manager will always have healthy habits so that the employees that he is supervising will adopt the same behaviour. Employees who are tardy regularly are frequently absent from the office are unlikely to be meeting their organisational expectations. Poor punctuality means an employee is not performing their work to the hope of the organisation. The negative attitude they display may also be affecting their colleagues. An employee who disregards your expectations and presents a dishevelled or careless appearance reflects poorly on your management style and would not be meeting the performance standard of the organisation.

Where I am today being not exactly what was planned, besides the idea of attending college has played into my advantage. Though the way I have gone about getting this far was not a very easy task. The abilities I had to learn and implement to successfully achieve this step-in life; would by most people be considered challenging. These abilities consist of my strengths, qualities, and characteristics that were either self-taught or picked up by the environment I was raised in.

These categories was my physical health and my environmental health. I was completely aware of that I was not where I wanted to be physically, but I did not know I was poor in my environmental health.
Humans have a fundamental tendency to seek positive information of themselves, namely engage in self-enhancing (Sedikides, 1993; Swann, Pelham, & Krull, 1989). However, individuals are also motivated to seek the subjective truth of themselves, namely engage in self-verifying. (Sedikides, 1993; Swann et al., 1989). Simultaneously, individuals struggle and deject to seek objective and accurate truth of themselves, namely engage in self-assessing (Sedikides, 1993). Self-assessment can occur through the process of self-awareness, where individuals become conscious about their behavior and thoughts and regulate according to their internal standards and values (Huggon, 2014).
My final assessment of my vocal participation is that I could have done better; however, I feel like I have progressed a lot. As for my writing and reading participation, I feel that I have done consistently well. I believe that I have respected the rules of our class’s participation agreement. For an overall final assessment of my participation, I feel that I have done a good job, but that I could have pushed myself further.
• Agreed marking criteria means there can be little confusion about assignment outcomes and expectations.
An essential part of life is how a person assess his or her life and make the necessary changes to better his or life. Self-assessment provides a time of self-reflection to measure growth and to reflect on areas of improvement. Self-assessment also evaluates a student’s cognitive processes and behaviors associated with learning and retaining information. This helps the student understand who they are and empowers he or she to further challenge themselves for success. Challenges create opportunities for students to develop certain task and goals which assist them in using their education to become successful in the workforce. This paper will consist of my self-assessment. I will utilize the Multi-System Life Course (MSLC) and analyze
Self-assessment is an important aspect of teaching, as it allows the teacher to reflect upon the successfulness of the content of the lesson and the communication, along with the delivery of instruction and if each student’s learning was successful. Looking at each of these individually, there are specific components that a teacher should look reflect on and assess. When broken down, there is a better chance of determining where changes to a lesson, or to teaching, might be needed to make it more successful for learning. The first area of teaching to assess is the subject matter, which is one of the most important aspects to reflect on, as this has to be developmentally appropriate much more.
I thought my participation was good in this group meeting. When it was my turn with the “talking” ball, I would contribute to the conversation. When a group member was talking, I thought I did a good job making eye-contact with those group members. If I wanted to add to what a group member had said, I would wait until they were done talking and grab the “talking” ball. I also would show non-verbal gestures, when group members were talking. Grace was sharing something about her family and trust, and I found myself nodding and making eye-contact with her. So not only did I participate in the discussion, but I also participated by fully paying attention to the members of my group. Overall, I thought my participation was great in this group meeting.
Avery and I have worked to reach the goals for our freshman group by allowing them to have opportunities to learn from each other, grow at a student, and feel comfortable in our group here at the Capstone. By learning from one another, one begins to think harder and more thoroughly, and that is something I personally have wanted our freshman to do. We have given them plenty of opportunities to be able to achieve this by emphasizing contributing to the discussion. Yes, it is important for them to realize that engaging is a part of their overall grade, but it is also important for them to grasp that through discussion they gain knowledge, different perspective, and personal confidence. We have challenged them to do their best as students and use their many resources available to them especially their professors and teaching assistants. During our one-on-one meetings we thoroughly encouraged them to meet with their
