Where I am today being not exactly what was planned, besides the idea of attending college has played into my advantage. Though the way I have gone about getting this far was not a very easy task. The abilities I had to learn and implement to successfully achieve this step-in life; would by most people be considered challenging. These abilities consist of my strengths, qualities, and characteristics that were either self-taught or picked up by the environment I was raised in. First, I will discuss the strengths that I have accumulated over the years of my life. Patience being my biggest strength has indeed helped with many problems through life. I have worked on this strength by creating a hobby of putting together puzzles along with other …show more content…
I will start with my strongest characteristic which is respect. I always put respect first when it comes to talking to new people, since it minimizes the chances of down play. Respect in my opinion is very important to not only me, but as well as to the people that I will be talking to. The simple saying treat others the way you want to be treated can go a long way in the business field. Though some may argue that to a business person money speaks louder than words. However, I consider myself a Christian business man; the point being is that I am more in the business to not only help myself, but to help others. Lastly, I will mention another characteristic that has carried me through life which is conservativism. I believe that being conservative is the best thing to be. The pros that come from conservativism is having the ability to choose what I want to do with my life. To add, it allows people to be adventurous with their lives and take chances as well as make mistakes that can teach you great lessons. Freedom being a huge part of being a conservative with the Laissez-faire approach in my opinion, is the best way to go. For example, if I own a business it is better off if it can pay for itself and not require loans to keep it running. The same idea can be applied to the United States (U.S.) if the country can support itself without foreign aid then it is better off standing on its own
We all have encountered many obstacles in life, but to look back and comprehend the way I have handled them I can certainly mention two of my strengths. Persistence alongside determination has allowed me to achieve my life goals, projects and have driven me to where I am today. Even though it has seemed beyond the bounds of possibilities, my strong hearted person and ambition has made expand when I am challenged, and this is what I seek in life, to confront and persevere new challenges and grow as a professional and human being.
The holidays have left me feeling weaker and more exhausted and stressed, my sister is killing me, and the impending medical stuff is taking me to a deeper level of stress.
Looking at the various options from Thursday's readings, I would like to recant my previous opinion for the soul to be the enduring self. Looking at the course material, I would still agree with this. To add in this weeks readings I think Hegel is onto something with the power struggle and the heading of the Relational self.
The small, seaside town of Point Pleasant Borough, New Jersey is not exactly where one would expect to find many adventures. Leveling out at just under twenty thousand citizens, it is a mostly homogeneous population of white, Christian families. The kids I went to school with often referred to Point as “The Bubble,” meaning that nobody leaves our town; and the nickname holds true. My hometown is filled with families that have lived there for generations, families that everybody knows, because nobody leaves town. My family in particular is a prominent one in Point. My grandparents had nine children, so every teacher I’ve ever had has taught at least one or two Hanrahans before me. I am constantly asked things like, “Who's your dad?” or “Are
My first major strength is having patience because I find it important to have patience during a bargain. It shows the other person that I am taking my time to listen what they want to negotiate. Not a lot of people are patience, it could affect during a bargain because it shows me that person doesn’t consider my bargain as important. I find it disrespectful because if I was in that position I want the person to listen to me. Having patience, it is a way to avoid conflict because I am not in a hurry or ignoring the person’s negotiation. My second major strength is self-control because I don’t get angry easily. It is important to have self-control during a bargain because nobody wants to get in a conflict or ruin their chance to do a business
One of the hardest things to do is to figure out who you are as a person. For a long time I thought I knew who I was. My parents taught me to be selfless and kind despite what others do to me. I lived a life sheltered from the harsh truth that sometimes being kind all the time leaves the door open for someone to walk all over you. The people that showed me this side of the world were none other than the girls I called my best friends. After that, I learned a little something about myself and something that I could teach other people. I learned about being confident in myself and that standing up for yourself makes you a stronger person,
Each person possess a series of strengths and weaknesses that compile their persona. After an analysis of my traits and abilities, I conclude I show strength in cooperating with people, and in communication. When working with other people, I believe everyone has the same potential and capabilities. I do not rank or judge anybody on the level of their intelligence or additional factors. Each and every person had amazing capabilities, and that is why I also attempt to listen to everybody’s thoughts and ideas, and see through their eyes. For instance, in science class, we were supposed to get into groups of five and create an experiment. To come up with an experiment, my group had decided to pick a topic we all found interesting and to formulate
A self-analysis may be beneficial for a nurse’s career. It can lay the foundation of a self-examination that focuses on weaknesses as much as strengths. The purpose of a self-reflection is to be able to identify areas that need improvement whether on a personal level or professional level (Pappas, 2010). In a self-analysis, a person may reveal facts about his or her personality and effective or ineffective communication skills. A self-analysis may also help the nurse identify her or his compatibility and incompatibility with career choices. Understanding my character is critical to improving my personality to be successful both in life and in my workplace (Pappas, 2010). In this paper, I am going to provide an overview of my person from personal and professional viewpoints. I will also provide a self-critic of myself as a DON student at Winston Salem State University. Next, I will reflect on my experience in the program, what I have learned, and my overall impression. Finally, I will reflect upon the University’s vision, mission, and motto. I will also discuss my future aspirations.
There are numerous ways in which my strengths are used throughout my day-to-day life. My number one strength was teamwork, which will be an extremely important strength to carry since I plan to pursue a career in business. One way I used this strength the past summer was by working with four other people. I worked as a tour guide and we also served brunch every day. Whenever people wanted brunch one would take their order, one would get their drinks, one would cook the eggs, one would cook whatever else they wanted, and the last one would butter their toast. To perfect this task, it was necessary for all of us in the workplace to use teamwork effectively. As well, whenever someone came for a tour typically two people would go with them. One
1. One of the first things that I know did not assist me in experiencing success was the fact that I kept avoiding my fears. This made it difficult for me to put across my thinking clearly in many situations and it prevented me from getting actively involved in discussion where my point of view might have played an important role. I came to leave particular tasks until the last moments as the deadline was approaching in spite of the fact that I later observed that I had no problems in completing them effectively.
What do you feel is your greatest strength? How do you use your strengths to compensate for weaker areas?
When one thinks of strengths, many think of it as the physical aspect but the reality is that strengths consist of both physical and personality aspects. “A strength is the ability to consistently provide near-perfect performance in a specific activity. The key to building a strength is to identify your dominant talents, then complement them by
My strengths are important to consider in my overall personality and the way I relate to people. An important strength in my character is my ability to communicate. I find it easy for me to communicate well with others, as I am an outgoing person and I have the ability to listen as well as respond. For example, my communication helps me in relation to the access course and a health profession environment, by being able to interact effectively with everyone. It
I believe my ability to take on multiple tasks is my strongest ability. I like to be busy, with different things to do everyday. I feel this is a good way to keep everyday exciting and refreshing. I feel one of my weaknesses is my confidence with new people. I am a shy person, but my previous experiences has made me a more outgoing person. I feel with a little more perseverance I will overcome my shyness. Another strength of mine is that I am always willing to help others. I will always check on other people to see if there is anything I can do to
While it is hard for me to acknowledge and talk about my strengths, I know that I have them because God gives us strengths and talents. He gives them to us so that we can use them to foster a good place for humanity and to strive to follow His footsteps. One of the strengths that I believe I have is that I engage in sacred trust. This is because I consider myself a trustworthy person. If someone tells me something, I will maintain confidentiality and keep that between us. This is because I believe that trust is something that can be easily broken and it is always best to aim always to keep that trust with someone. Exhibiting trust to others is a value that I live by. I know that many people suffer from distrust and I want to let them know that there are people that they can trust and that will listen to them with a truly open heart. Another strength that I believe I have is that I am kind. The reason that I believe this is because I really do think that I use my
