Classroom Observation Essay

April 10, 2017, I visited the Early Discoveries Center head start school in Port Jefferson, New York to perform an observation of a toddler’s classroom through the Community head start program. The class consist of 8 students and two lead teachers. The purpose of this observation is to observe and evaluate the classroom environment, activities taking place, the toddlers in the classroom and the interactions between the staff and children. the teachers and students seemed more relaxed. As the children walked back into their classrooms, they seemed happier. I personally felt at ease in this school; my only guess it is because the school atmosphere seems less strict compared to Meridian. It is the kind of relaxed environment I felt at other public schools, such as Frost Elementary School. The teachers were more eager to include me in their classroom. Most of my observations took place on Wednesdays which were October 5th, 12th, and the 27th but one took place on Monday the 17th.
