Explanation of Solution

• Multiplexer is a device that includes many inputs and forwards into a single output line.
• A two input multiplexer includes the two inputs, one switch and one output. Here the output can be associated with any one of the inputs.
• A two input multiplexer can be derived from two universal gates, NAND and NOR gates. Hence, it is also considered as universal.

Multiplexer with NAND gate:

The above diagram describes about the NAND gates derived from the multiplexer. If the input A is 0 with switch S then, the output will be 0. If the input A is 1 with switch S then, the output will be same as the input B.

• The truth table includes two inputs A and B and one output O.
• If the inputs A=0 and B=0 then, the output O=0 because only input A is considered and has the value A=0.
• If the inputs A=0 and B=1 then, the output O=0 because only input A is considered and has the value A=0.
• If the inputs A=1 and B=0 then, the output O=0 because the input of B is considered and the input B has the value B=0...
