Introduction: Receptors are the chemical structures that bind with the signal molecules called as a ligand. The ligand molecules can be proteins, peptides, and lipids that induce the signal transduction pathway with binding to the receptor molecules. For instance, the ligand acetylcholine binds to the acetylcholine receptor that induces the transmission of nerve impulse between the nerves.
