Chapter 9.4, Problem 2MI
Summary Introduction

The cephalosporins are the antibiotic family and class of β-lactam antibiotics. In 1948, a cephalosporin is isolated originally from the fungus of Cephalosporium. The bacteria generate an enzyme Beta-lactamase, which gives multi-resistance to Beta-lactam antibiotics such as cephamycins, cephalosporins, penicillins, and carbapenems.
