Introduction: There are seven cervical vertebrae (C1 to C7) present in the vertebral column. Among the seven, the first two cervical vertebrae appear different. The first cervical vertebra (C1) is known as the atlas and the second (C2) is known as axis. The spinous process present in the vertebrae C3 to C6 is bifurcated whereas, the spinous process of C7 is single. The cervical vertebrae contain two transverse foramina and one vertebral foramen making it to be easily distinguished from other vertebrae.
