DSS is a computer-based system similar to management information systems (MIS) but it overcomes the lack of information that is not present the reports generated by the MIS.
- MIS is the system that gives the information required by the different level of the organization and also helps the managers of the middle-level to organize the resource.
- Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) can also be involved in some of the DSS. It is used to make query and analyze the data stored in the data mart and
databases. - OLAP utilize the set of tools to create queries and to give the data in a multidimensional view.

An executive information system is an information system which is also referred as the executive support system (ESS)
- EIS helps the executives of the management to perform the function of strategic planning.
- In EIS system, the significant information is filtered and is provided in the graphical user interface which is user friendly.
