Introduction:
The anterior pituitary is a pea-sized gland that protrudes from the lower part of the brain below the hypothalamus. The hormones produced by this gland are growth hormone (GH), adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), prolactin, thyrotrophic hormone (TH), luteinizing hormone (LH), as well as follicle stimulating hormone (FSH).
