Introduction:
Muscles require energy to contract and relax. The primary source of energy for a muscle cell is ATP. Splitting ATP into ADP (adenosine diphosphate) and Pi (inorganic phosphate) releases the energy that is required for the muscle to work. These ATP molecules can be created from various sources depending on the need and availability of ATP.
