The two friends are sharing a milkshake each one having a straw. Under situation 1, both the friends drink from their respective straws, eventually consuming the entire milkshake together. While in the 2 situations, one of the two friends take both straws and drink the whole milkshake.

Introduction:

Exploitation competition is a type of interaction when equal access to the limiting resource is given to the species whereas in interference competition one of the two species can limit the access of the resource for the other species.
