Concept introduction:
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic disorder affecting most of the joints in the human body. This disorder is more prevalent among women (3X) than men. The synovial tissues of the joints are primarily affected by the RA, it might have systemic appearances. It is generally a symmetric disorder. Disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) are useful in treating RA. Physical therapy is recommended to reduce pain and inflammation in the joints followed by application of heat on the infected regions and exercises.
