Explanation of Solution

In this study, researchers conducted the experiment to show that meditation lowers the anxiety level. The researchers experiment two groups, one to whom they taught and the other to whom subjects were asked to relax more.

Thus, the result was that the group whom were taught how to meditate have less anxiety level. There were no blindness effect in the experiment. Thus the lack of blindness will affect the reported result because if subjects in the control group know that they are receiving a placebo, the placebo effect will be reduced or eliminated; and the placebo will not serve its intended control purpose. And this will affect the results.
