Introduction: In plants, the growth occurs throughout their life. This is because in plants, the meristems are present. These meristematic cells divide continuously and lead to the formation of new cells, which are further elongated and differentiated. The secondary growth of the plant tissues that arises at cylinders of the lateral meristem runs lengthwise through older stem and roots. Vascular cambium and cork cambium are the two lateral meristems.
