Introduction:
The distinctive biochemical characteristics of archaea are best recognized. Extremophiles are individuals in the Archaea phylum who thrive in extremely acidic or basic, hot or cold, or high-pressure situations. Archaea have developed highly distinctive cell membranes and cell walls as a result of evolution to live in these harsh environments. These structures have a different chemical composition than bacteria.
