Chemolithotrophs are able to obtain energy from inorganic chemicals, while chemoorganotrophs are able to obtain energy from oxidation of organic compounds. Phototrophs utilize carbon dioxide and light for energy production. Hence, the types of electron donors are also different in these organisms.
