9 | Cognitive behaviour |
Explanation of Solution
The response of an animal to some stimulus is known as behaviour. The innate behaviour is response to a stimulus that is genetically acquired. The animals which carry a specific response for a particular stimulus and it is fixed all time, then it is called fixed action pattern. The behaviour that is learned by an individual by past experience is known as learned behaviour. An example of learned behaviour is habituation, in which individual learn to ignore a stimulus with time when there is no punishment or award is associated. Classical condition is a behaviour in which the individual learn to associate two stimuli. Operant conditioning involves the punishment learning. A permanent learning is called imprinting. The individuals when solves a problem by thinking then it is called cognitive behaviour.
