To write:
The type of learning which is permanent and occurs within a specific time period of an animal’s life.
Introduction:
Learning which can only occur within a specific time period in an animal’s life and is permanent is known as Imprinting.
Explanation of Solution
Imprinting is a basic and extremely specialized form of learning that happens at a specific age or stage of life during the growth of certain animals, like ducks and geese. When the ducklings hatch, they imprint on the first adult animal they see, normally their mother. When the duckling has imprinted on the mother, the mother's sight serves as a reference to the survival-promoting actions of the mother.
If the newborn duck sees a human prior to their mother, they will imprint on the human and will then follow around as they would do with their real mother.
Imprinting type of learning which is permanent and occurs within a specific time period of an animal’s life.
