The chromatography can be defined as a technique of separation and purification of the different substances. There are two phases in the stationary and mobile phase. The technique of chromatography relies on the principle that there is a differential migration of the substances in the mixture (mobile phase) through the stationary phase.

The mobile phase in the chromatography is passed through the stationary phase, in which the different component of the mobile phase travels at different rate according to their atatchement with the stationary phase. The component of the mobile that is attracted more towards the stationary phase travels faster.
