The elements in the periodic table have to be categorized.

Concept Introduction:

The chemical elements are crucial to everyone in our day-to-day lives. The living creatures are made of different elements such as carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, phosphorus, sulfur, etc. Although some elements are found in minimum quantities, they are very essential to our body.

Explanation of Solution

There are 118 elements known in the modern periodic table.

• 88 elements in the periodic table occur naturally.
• The rest of them, i.e, 30 elements are synthesized artificially in the lab.
• The most common elements present on earth are oxygen, silicon, aluminum, iron and calcium.
