Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The lipid membrane consists of phospholipids, glycolipids, and cholesterol. The cholesterol occurs naturally in the cell membranes of the eukaryotes. It is biosynthesized from mevalonate. The membranes need larger levels of cholesterol to promote the aggregation of peripheral and transmembrane proteins. The phospholipids are long, having a polar and two nonpolar heads that contribute to structural stability.
