Concept explainers
A
To explain: Whether the consumption of mutated mushroom may be safe or not.
Introduction:
In biosynthesis pathways, the energy is released as oxidation of food particles by energetically favorable reactions and is stored temporarily, so that it can be used in energetically unfavorable reaction as fuel for the synthesis of other molecules. The molecules carrying energy rich covalent bond diffuse rapidly and energy is used for bio-synthesis or for the energy requiring activity.
B
To explain: Whether another mutant mushroom which couples ATP hydrolysis more slowly would be safe for consumption.
