Question
Chapter 26.1, Problem 3MC
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The common ancestry revealed by vertebrate skeletons.
Introduction:
Vertebrate animals have endoskeletons made of cartilage or bone. An endoskeleton (endo-means inner) is an internal support structure that grows with the animal, eliminating the problems associated with molting. An endoskeleton can support animals as large as a whale by consuming less of an organism’s total body mass.
