Concept introduction:
When two molecules have same molecular formula but different structural formula they are called as isomers of each other and this phenomenon is called as isomerism. On the basis of difference in chain and positions, isomers can be mainly classified as two types;
- Constitutional isomers − They are also called as structural isomers.
- Stereoisomers − They have different configurations in 3-dimensional space.
