Why the fats in the adipose tissue of the body are considered the major form of stored energy?
Concept introduction:
Adipose tissue is a loose connective tissue containing adipocytes and its main role is to store energy in the form of fat. Adipose tissue is said to be a buffer for the energy imbalances when energy intake and energy output is not equal. Moreover, excess energy is stored with very little water. The conversion of lipid to carbohydrate is not feasible in most of the animals. Under normal conditions, the brain is dependent on glucose for its energy supply.
