The thymus is one of the lymphatic organs, which produces T (thymus-dependent) cells. It is known as the primary lymphatic organ, wherein the lymphocytes are made and become mature. It comprises the reticular cells, thymic corpuscles, and developing T cells. The blood capillaries in the thymus make a blood–thymus barrier.
