Chapter 23, Problem 14RQ
Summary Introduction
To review:
The specificity of phagocytes to only phagocyte the pathogens.
Introduction:
The innate system has white blood cells such as macrophages and neutrophils that engulf foreign cells especially microbial intruders by the process of phagocytosis. This involves the formation of pseudopodia around the pathogen and formation of a complex. This provides defense from the foreign body that invades the human body.
