Introduction:
Position is a vector quantity with magnitude and direction. On addition of position vectors, both their magnitude and directions are considered.
When the students added the vector for a moving object’s position to a motion diagram, the vectors pointed at different direction because when the directions of a motion diagram are different the position vectors are different.Thereby, adding vector to it will result in different directions.
Conclusion:
Addition of position vectors require both the direction and magnitude to be added.
