Question
Chapter 21, Problem 6CR
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The anatomical characteristics of every type of leukocyte.
Introduction:
The leukocytes help to initiate an immune response and defend the body against pathogens. They are true cells because they contain a nucleus and cellular organelles. They are differentiated from erythrocytes because they are about 1.5 to 3 times larger in diameter.
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The reason that leukocytes show different color staining when blood smear is seen under the microscope.
Introduction:
An abnormal number of leukocytes results from various pathologic conditions. A reduced number of leukocytes cause a serious disorder called leucopenia; whereas, the elevated number of leukocytes causes leukocytosis.
