Concept explainers
Interpretation:
RNA: The full form of RNA is ribonucleic acid. It consists of ribose in its pentose ring and is found in the cytoplasm of the cell. It is mainly involved in transferring the genetic code for protein synthesis
DNA: The full form of DNA is deoxyribonucleic acid which consists of deoxyribose in its pentose ring and is found mostly in the nucleus of cell. It stores mainly genetic information.
Concept introduction:
Charagaff’s rule: it states that DNA from any cell of organisms should have ration of pyrimidine and purine base.
The amount of guanine should be equal to cytosine and the amount of adenine should be equal to thymine.
Of adenine of thymine
Of guanine of cytosine.
To determine:
If the DNA double helix in humans contains cytosine, what is percentage of guanine, adenine and thymine?
