Introduction:
The cardiac cycle begins with an action potential generated in the muscle near the atria of the heart. This region of the heart is called the sinoatrial node (SA node). The electrical impulse initiates the contraction of muscles. The action potential excites the right atrium, and then it is conducted through the Bachmann’s bundle (interatrial tract) towards the left atria.
