Hyphae is the thread like filaments. These filaments are the basic structural units that makes the body of the multicellular fungi. Each hypha grows at its tip and branch repeatedly to form a interwoven mass called mycelium. Hyphae are divided into cells by cross-walls called septa. Septa have large pores through which nutrients and other materials flow between the cells. A network of hyphae extends in all directions through the soil.
