Option (b) 24m/s.

Explanation of Solution

There are five intervals between the initial and final and starting from the first drop. The each interval is 5 seconds. Therefor the total time taken by the car is 25 seconds.

The distance between the initial and final drop of oil is 600m.

Write the expression to calculate the average speed of the car.

  v=dt

Here, v is the average speed, d is the total distance and t is the total time taken.

Conclusion:

Substitute 25s for t and 600m for d in the above equation to calculate v.

  v=600m25s=24m/s

Therefore, option (b) is correct.
