Explanation of Solution

Create a Visual Basic Windows Application:

• Open “Microsoft Visual Basic 2010”.
• Click “File Menu” -> “New Project”.
• In the “New Project” pop-up window, select the “Windows Forms Application” and give the name as “My Splash Project”, and specify the location as “\VB2015\Chap01\” and the solution name as “My Splash Solution”.

Step 1:

• Click the “PictureBox” in the toolbox, and place it on the form.

Step 2:

• Click the small arrow on the picture box and then click “choose image” from “\VB2015\Chap01\wel.jpg” on the context menu.
• Stretch the image both horizontally and vertically on the form.

Step 3:

• Set the form’s “ControlBox” property as “False”, so that the icon and buttons are removed from the form title bar.
