Animal-like protists are usually called protozoa. Most protozoa comprise of a solitary or single cell. They are animal-like since they are heterotrophs, and are fit for moving.

Plant-like protists are called green algae. They incorporate single-celled diatoms and multicellular seaweed. Like plants, green algae contain chlorophyll and make food by photosynthesis.

Growth like protists are molds. Molds are absorptive feeders, found on decaying organic matter. They take fungi and replicate with spores as fungi do.
