Summary Introduction
To analyze:
The reason for giving erythropoietin in case of renal failure and the consequences of not using erythropoietin.
Introduction:
Erythropoietin (EPO) is the protein that is synthesized in the liver only in the conditions when the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry oxygen to the tissues and organs that require oxygen. This condition is called hypoxia. It works by targeting the CFU-E (colony forming units-erythroblasts) to differentiate proerythroblast and basophilic erythroblasts into mature erythroblasts.
