- Customers have to connect to the network and locate their location via their mobile phones. Once their request is done, the cab arrives at the specified location in a very short time.
- It completely depends on wireless technology, which is also one of the disadvantages. If mobile phone services are down, then customers are unable to connect with the Uber drivers.
GIS:
- GIS stands for Geographic
Information System . - It is a system that is used to gather, store, manipulate, and manage the geographical information.
- GIS application allows user to create interactive queries, edit information in maps, etc.
- Its applications are related to management, engineering, logistics, business, etc.
GPS:
- It stands for Global Positioning System.
- It is nothing but a satellite based navigation system that provides accurate position, time, as well as speed information.
- It performs independent operation and the user need not to transmit information.
- It is used by people present all over the world. It provides dangerous positioning capabilities to military and civil services and also to commercial users.
LBS:
- Location based services is abbreviated as LBS that uses real time geo-information form a mobile device to provide data, security, etc.
- It provides more services like delivering products (Example: Pizza and products from e-shopping).
