Answer to Problem 11A

The tendency of gas molecules to escape out of the container increases on increasing the temperature.

Explanation of Solution

With increase in temperature, molecules of gas acquire kinetic energy. The molecules of gas have very much less force of attraction between the molecules. On increasing the temperature, these attractions become more less and tendency of gas molecule to escape from container increases and hence the solubility decreases.

Conclusion

Thus, solubility of gas is decreased when temperature is increased.
