Osmotic pressure is the minimum pressure that must be applied on the solution to prevent the entry of the solvent into the solution through the semi­permeable membrane. It is also the minimum pressure that needs to apply on a solution to make vapour pressure of the solution equal to vapour pressure of the solvent. Osmotic pressure depends on the number of solute particles. Osmotic pressure changes with increasing solute particles in solution. So, osmotic pressure is a colligative property
