To review:
The model which speculate about the effect of Notch Hes oscillations on the regulation of development between renewal, progenitor derivation and differentiation in a vRG cell.
Introduction:
In case of vertebral development, large number of cell types and tissues are evolved from a single oocyte. Among all the tissues, one of the important systems is central nervous system. Central nervous system contains many types of neurons and glial cells which arises during embryonic neuro and gliogenesis. The process of neural division is regulated by a number of mechanisms like transcriptional and epigenetic regulation, and signaling pathways. The oscillations in notch signals also play a crucial role in regulation of neural progenitors.

- Please help! Thanks!!arrow_forwardNeed helparrow_forwardQuestions are either true or false about for the following statements on Notch signaling please help. how do i work throuhg these During R8 determination, cells with higher Notch ligand Dl will induce higher expression of Notch target gene Enhancer of Split complexes [E(spl)] in the neighboring cells and inhibit their differentiation into R8 neurons. In the absence of Notch ligands, Su(H) will bind to the corepressor proteins and repress Notch target gene expression. Therefore the effects of the Notch receptor mutation can be different from that of the Su(H) mutations Notch signaling has multiple functions during eye development, including regulation of cell proliferation, lateral inhibition, selection of the first retinal neuron, and recruitment of cone cells. These different functions are all mediated by Notch signaling targets the Enhancer of Split complexes [E(spl)]. Mutations that specifically block endocytosis of Notch ligand Dl (in the Dl expressing cells) will…arrow_forward
- BIOC 384 Overview of Cell Signaling Pathways Q7.2: A first messenger molecule activates a receptor that stimulates Enzyme A, which synthesizes 100 second messenger molecules. In turn, each second messenger activates only one molecule of Enzyme B, which once activated, phosphorylates 100 molecules of Enzyme C that each phosphorylate 75 molecules of Enzyme D. In the last step, each Enzyme D phosphorylates 50 transcription factors. How many transcription factors are phosphorylated in response to the first messenger binding to the receptor? How many transcription factors would be phosphorylated if one copy of the Enzyme D gene were inactivated (heterozygous genotype) so that there were only half the number of functional Enzyme D molecules in the cell? Explain.arrow_forwardQuestions below true or false about the following statements on Drosophila eye development I am struggling with how to work through this... Hh, which is expressed by the developing photoreceptors in the anterior eye disc, induces cells in the morphogenetic furrow (MF) to express DPP, which is the ligand of DPP (BMP) signaling. Wg and Notch signaling inhibit while Hh and DPP signaling promote the co-expression of RD genes including Ey (Eyeless) and Eya (Eyes absent) in the preproneural (PPN) domain anterior to the MF. Co-expression of the retinal determination (RD) network genes Eya (Eyes absent), sine oculis (so), and Ey (Eyeless), which is observed in PPD domain of eye disc, are required for retinal determination and for induction of atonal expression. While EGFR signaling is not required for R8 specification, EGFR signaling is required for cell survival in posterior eye discs and for the differentiation of all the remaining cell types in the ommatidia.
