A dataset will have only one unique median.
Explanation of Solution
Mode is the most frequent observation in the dataset. So there are more than one set of similar values whose frequencies are same then yes there can be multiple mode in data.
Let’s consider the below dataset:
1, 1, 1, 3, 3, 3, 5, 8
In the data 1 and 3 both have the three occurrences, so both can be considered as mode.
Median is the middle value of the data when it is arranged in ascending order.
In case of odd number of observation middle value of the data will be median. Otherwise for even number of observations mean of middle value will be the media.
Therefore a dataset will have only one unique median.
