Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is the most commonly used network management protocol. SNMP devices include a router, switch, server, and so on.

• Each SNMP device has a mediator that gathers all the information and process the messages. Then the information is stored in a database called as the Management Information Base (MIB).
