Wave frequency is a fundamental characteristic of a wave but wave speed is not a fundamental characteristic and depends upon the point of consideration. The unit of wave frequency is s-1 while the wave speed unit is ms-1.
Explanation of Solution
The difference between the wave frequency occurs due to the different points of observation. In wave speed, the distance travelled by a point of the wave is calculated while in wave frequency, the number of waves passing through a particular point are observed.
