Introduction:
A hematoma is a localized collection of blood outside the blood vessel, due to damage of the vein caused by an injury. A subdural hematoma is the accumulation of blood between the duramater and the arachnoid mater, due to rupture of the bridging vein. This rupture can be due to a head injury. A muscle hematoma or bruises is a localized collection of blood in the muscle tissue.
